What's that Bug?

Can anyone help me identify these bugs? I don't know if they are beneficial bugs or not.

These bugs seem to love my chamomile. They are tiny - about the size of a pin head.

These bugs love to hang out on my sunflower leaves. These bugs are pretty small, too.

Any help identifying these would be appreciated!

  1. The first ones I've seen before, sometimes in our house! I'm not sure what they are or what they do.
The second one looks look like Leafhoppers. I have a great book and it suggests dormant oil or insecticidal soap spray.
The book is called "Rodale's Pest & Disease Problem Solver". It's all chemical free ways to control insects and diseases in plants.
It has great pictures in it too. I paid about $20 for it years ago and use it a lot.
I love the chamomile flowers, they are so cute!

  2. Renee, I can't resist an ID wild-goose-chase. Any chance to procrastinate. Spent more time than I should hunting bugs. One thing I learned is: even bug people can't always confirm identities.

One possibility: the little guys might be hatchlings or nymphs of some kind of true bug. Yes, true bugs is the actual common name. Stink bugs and shield bugs fall into this category.

Have a look at one of these sites:

There's nothing that looks the same to me there. However, if you send them your pic, they might be able to help.

I agree with Catherine; the other guy is probably a leafhopper.
